The Montclair PAL E-Sports/E-Gaming Club is a fun and inclusive program
for youth ages 10–14 who enjoy gaming and friendly competition.
Participants explore popular games in a supervised, team-oriented
environment while learning good sportsmanship, communication skills, and
strategic thinking.
Whether beginners or experienced players, all kids are
welcome to connect, play, and grow through the world of e-gaming.
The Youth Financial Literacy Club, in
partnership with Flagstar Bank, provides a strong foundation in
smart money management to students ages 12–18 by helping young people build
confidence, develop healthy financial habits, and prepare for a successful future.
Through fun, interactive lessons and practical activities,
students learn budgeting, saving, understand banking, earning income responsibly, and
making informed financial decisions.
PAL Anglers is Montclair PAL’s youth fishing club for boys and girls ages 10–14.
The program introduces kids to the basics of fishing, water safety, and outdoor stewardship in a fun, supportive environment. Participants learn casting techniques, how to identify local fish species, and enjoy relaxing days at the water with experienced mentors.
No experience or equipment needed—just a willingness to learn and have fun outdoors!
The Montclair PAL Tennis Club introduces youth ages 10–14 to the fundamentals of tennis in a fun, supportive environment.
Participants learn basic skills, develop coordination, and build confidence through guided instruction and friendly match play.
The program encourages teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy physical activity while helping young players gain a strong foundation.
The Montclair PAL Basic Self-Defense Class empowers girls (no boys allowed) ages 10–14 with practical skills to stay safe and confident in everyday situations.
Through guided instruction, participants learn awareness, boundary-setting, and simple defensive techniques in a supportive, encouraging environment.
This program helps build confidence, physical readiness, and a strong sense of personal safety while promoting positive decision-making and self-respect.
The MPAL PAL Content Squad is a youth storytelling program empowering young people to share their real PAL experiences.
Youth across the nation serve as representatives for our PAL chapter, creating content that highlights programs, mentors, and community impact at the national level.

The Montclair Police Explorers Program, Post #553, offers youth ages 14–20 an exciting opportunity to learn about law enforcement, leadership, and community service.
Participants gain hands-on experience through training, teamwork, and involvement in real community events.
The program helps young people build discipline, confidence, and a deeper understanding of police work while preparing them for future careers in public safety and community leadership.
The Montclair Junior Police Academy (JPA), Post #553, introduces youth ages 9– 14 to the world of law enforcement through fun, structured, and engaging activities.
Participants learn teamwork, leadership, and basic safety skills while experiencing what it’s like to work alongside local officers.
The JPA helps young people build confidence, discipline, and a strong sense of community pride—all in a supportive and educational environment.
The Montclair Police Department Youth Advisory Council engages young leaders ages 13–20 in meaningful collaboration with the Chief of Police and command staff.
Members serve as an advisory body, offering valuable insight on youth perspectives, community needs, and public-safety initiatives.
In addition, Council members act as liaisons for the youth of Montclair—providing a unified voice for their peers while sharing accurate, up-to-date information from the Chief and the police department, building stronger connections between law enforcement and the community’s young residents.
